Irrigation scheduling techniques and the methods of fertilisation used in the
valley are on a par with those used by its international competitors. As a
service to growers in the Valley, SRCC has invested in a sophisticated weather
monitoring system, which allows them to extract weather information on a daily
basis. This is particularly useful with regard to irrigation scheduling.
SRCC’s Technical Department has also been closely involved with various
disease prediction modules, enabling them to make scientific decisions about
spraying methods and timing schedules.
In addition, the department’s insect monitoring programmes are easily of
a world class standard. |
